Evanescence

Evanescence is an American rock band formed in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995. The band's current members are lead vocalist Amy Lee, bassist Tim McCord, drummer Will Hunt, and guitarists Troy McLawhorn and Jen Majura.

Early Years

The band was founded by Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. The two met in their youth at a youth camp, and they began writing songs together. The duo struggled to find a consistent lineup until drummer Rocky Gray and guitarist John LeCompt joined in 2002.

Commercial Success

Evanescence's first album, "Fallen," was released in 2003. The album was a massive success, selling more than 17 million copies worldwide and winning two Grammy Awards. The album spawned the hit singles "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal."

Lineup Changes and Hiatus

The band experienced a few lineup changes after the release of "Fallen." Moody left the band in 2003, citing musical differences with Lee. He was replaced by Terry Balsamo, who had previously played with Lee in a side project. Gray and LeCompt also left the band in 2007, and new members were added.

Evanescence went on hiatus in 2012, with Lee releasing a solo album and starting a family. The band regrouped in 2015, announcing an album and tour.

Evanescence has released four studio albums:
